What is Chiropractic Care?
Chiropractic care treats the whole body, not just the symptom that brought you in. Dr. Javurek is trained in several adjustment techniques, so your treatment plan is built around what actually works for you.
An adjustment is a precise, controlled correction of a vertebra that's slipped out of position. Dr. Javurek uses two techniques: the Diversified method, a hands-on thrust, and the Activator Method, a gentler, instrument-based approach. Some patients prefer the traditional, hands-on style; others do better with the gentler, instrument-based approach. Dr. Javurek will find out which one works for you.
Pain is usually the last thing to show up, not the first. A misalignment can sit quietly for months, changing how you move, sleep, and recover, long before you ever feel a twinge. Wellness care means catching those changes on a regular schedule instead of waiting for them to turn into something you can't ignore.
Who is this for?
- Desk workers dealing with the slow creep of poor posture
- Parents and grandparents who want to stay active and keep up
- Athletes and weekend warriors managing everyday wear and tear
- Anyone who's felt a little "off" but not quite in pain
Dr. Javurek builds a maintenance schedule around your life, not a generic plan. Belvidere families use wellness care to stay ahead of the aches that come from work, sports, and getting older, before those aches turn into missed days.
Kids put a surprising amount of stress on a growing spine, from the birth process itself through crawling, walking, sports, and heavy backpacks. Because children don't always say exactly where something feels off, exams are thorough and gentle, with every step explained to parents along the way. Belvidere parents bring their kids in for everything from posture concerns to sports bumps and bruises, and Dr. Javurek adjusts his approach and pressure for a child's smaller frame.
Adjustments do a lot of the work, but what you do between visits matters too. Dr. Javurek recommends specific stretches and exercises tailored to your condition, so your body holds the progress you're making in the office. See the full exercise guide on the blog for step-by-step instructions
What's the difference between your two techniques?
The Diversified method is a hands-on thrust; the Activator Method uses a handheld, spring-loaded instrument for a gentler adjustment. Dr. Javurek picks whichever one your body responds to best.
Will I hear a popping sound during my adjustment?
Sometimes, and it's normal, but not every effective adjustment makes a sound. The noise comes from gas releasing in the joint, not bones moving on each other.
How many adjustments will I need?
It depends on what's going on and how long it's been building. Dr. Javurek will give you a clearer sense after your first exam.
