Meet Dr. Gabe Javurek, D.C.
Dr. Gabe Javurek earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 2004. Before that, he spent eight years in the U.S. Army Reserve as an ammunition specialist, earning the Army Achievement Medal and an honorable discharge in 1996, and worked in manufacturing at A.O. Smith and a welding and press-assembly shop.
His path into chiropractic started with his own injury: a motor vehicle accident left him with lower back pain and a herniated disc. When the standard medical route didn't bring real relief, he tried chiropractic care instead, and the results changed the direction of his career.
After Palmer, he worked at Anderson Chiropractic in Terre Haute, Indiana, and then became clinic director at the Chiropractic Clinic of Plainfield in Plainfield, Indiana. In November 2006, he purchased Alpha Chiropractic in Belvidere and opened Javurek Chiropractic of Belvidere. This November marks 20 years at the practice.
He's trained in Palmer's Diversified technique, the Activator Method, Cox's Flexion Distraction for herniated discs, and the lower-force Sacro-Occipital Technique, and he's a member of the Illinois Chiropractic Society
